I'm in the Plaza Prize Long List

Hi everyone!

I have some exciting news!! Several months ago, I sent the first chapter of my current work in progress, Tiger and Thistle, to the Plaza Prize SFF first chapter competition. At the weekend, they released the long list and my title made it! I can’t describe how amazing this makes me feel. People working in the industry actually read my work and liked it enough to choose it! How awesome is that?!

They will release the top 10 list later this week. Fingers crossed :)

In my last letter, I put in a poll and the results are in!

• Inspiration for Rachel’s book = 20%

• Fey! Fae! Fairies! = 15%

• Scottish Folklore = 30%

I’m going to think about some of the folklore I’ve put into my novel and let you know some of the snippets in the next letter :)
