In other news ….
Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) is coming, so I am getting a well-deserved break from work for 3 days (why can’t it be 3 weeks 😭😭). Tomorrow morning, I am hopping on a plane to Taipei (God willing, that sneaky Typhoon moving over Japan doesn’t cause problems.) Except for going back to the UK now and then, I can’t remember the last time I had a vacation outside of Korea. So, I am pretty excited!
Tiger and Thistle is coming on well. After a read through, I edited a bunch of chapters and am now working on the ending! That’s right. The end is near … My estimate is that I am about 90% done, but I know what I need to do to get it finished. This is the best part too - lots of action, horrific near death moments, character conflicts, and unresolved mysteries that will linger on into the next book. As I’ve said before, I never intended this to be a series, but the writing process has a way of taking over and it led me down that path. So I am aiming for a duology now.
I aim to have this finished by the end of the year. I’ve already made a list of potential agents and scraped together a rough synopsis, so as soon as these last chapters are completed, I can get into querying. Good news is I have given my resignation to work and will be unemployed from November, giving me the time to focus on this and take a proper rest for a few months (I say that now, however, I am moving house and will be moving in with my fella, am probably getting married, need to recover from a health issue that I haven’t disclosed here, and deal with a ton of government related paperwork. But if any of you are writers, you know that the book baby is always #1).
Anyway…
Well, that’s all for now.
Stay Gold and Happy Chuseok,
Rachel
